The Mayor of Kendal, Cllr Guy Tirvengadum said “Lots of people lost their lives in the wars, including many Kendalians. It is important that we never forget what they did so that we can have a better future. The Remembrance Sunday event is an ideal opportunity for us to come together and remember”.

The Reverend Rob Saner-Haigh, Vicar of Kendal Parish Church said “It is especially fitting on this particular Remembrance Sunday for our whole community to gather at the War Memorial to mark the centenary of the end of World War 1. It is important for us to pause, remember and give thanks, and also to commit ourselves once again to seeking peace and building a better world for all.”
