Words from the Mayor
“I was delighted at the number of dignitaries from Cumbria and other parts of the country that attended the Kendal Mayors Parade on Sunday 1st July. The Parade is very privileged to have cadets from the Royal Navy, Army and Air Force to accompany it, along with the Boys Brigade, Brownies, Guides and St. John’s Ambulance.  They provide this event with a real sense of occasion and I thank everyone of them for taking part. We were all very fortunate to have the floral displays put together for the “Queen of Flowers Festival” by the Cumbria Westmorland Federation of Women’s Institutes to greet us as we entered the Church, a real treat to the eye. The “Jubilee Day” poem written and read by Lucy Crispin for the Service was inspired and made it a really special event.I would also like to thank the Revd. Robert Saner-Haigh and members of Kendal Parish Church of the Holy Trinity for the wonderful service conducted on the day.  Kendal Parish Church is a very important part of our community and I was pleased to see it so full for the service.”
