 WAINWRIGHT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2016

A presentation by the Mayor  to the Winner of the Wainwright Achievement Award 2016 will be held prior to Full Council Meeting on 6 March 2017.

 WAINWRIGHT ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2017

 This Award is made annually to the person, persons, club, association, society or other local body (political activities excluded), who, or which, in the opinion of the Trustees of the Award, has done most during the year to promote the prestige of Kendal or has contributed significantly to the betterment of its inhabitants.

The Trustees awill invite nominations for the 2017 Award, which should be received by  To be Confirmed –   ….   January 2018 it is not expected that any individual or society will nominate themselves.

History behind the Award

In June 1989, Alfred Wainwright donated £10,000 to the Town Mayor and Councillors of Kendal Town Council to be held in a Charitable Trust. Each year the Trustees of the charity seek to present an award to “the person, or persons, club, association, society or other local body (political activities excluded), who, or which, in the opinion of the Administrators of the Trust, has done most during the year to promote the prestige of Kendal, or has contributed significantly to the betterment of its inhabitants”.

 

Wainwright Award 2016

The Trustees will invite nominations for this Award which is payable to the person, persons, club, association, society or other local body (political activities excluded), who, or which, in the opinion of the Administrators of the Trust, has done most during the year 2016 to promote the prestige of Kendal or has contributed significantly to the betterment of its inhabitants.

Written nominations for 2016 should be received by (To be confirmed) and it is not expected that any individual or society will nominate him or herself or themselves.
