Welcome to Kendal Town Council
Kendal Town Council is the first tier of local government in the civil parish of Kendal. It plays a key role in the life of the town, from coordinating its Cumbria in Bloom entry to putting up the Christmas lights in the town centre. It is the allotment authority for the town and supports a diverse variety of organisations through grants and sponsorships. It has a wide range of powers and duties, reflecting its role in the everyday life of the Kendal community.The council has 28 members, and the chairman of the council is the Mayor of Kendal. There are currently eight members of staff led by the Town Clerk, Chris Bagshaw.
