Kendal Town Council

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING AN OFFICIAL MACE BEARER?

Due to retirement, we are looking for two people interested in being the Mace Bearers for The Mayor of Kendal. The Mace Bearers are responsible for carrying the maces at our civic events.
There are three such events each year – Mayor Making (3rd Thursday in May – evening), Mayor’s Sunday (1st Sunday in July – morning) and Remembrance Sunday (2nd Sunday in November – morning). Occasionally there may be a need to attend one off civic events.
This position comes with a uniform and is paid at fixed rate per event. Our current Mace Bearers Arthur and Chrissie Sinker have been in post 15 years and we are most grateful to them for their service over so many years.
If you are interested in the position please contact Liz Richardson, Town Clerk via the main office on 01539 793490 or office@kendaltowncouncil.gov.uk .

Kendal Climate Change Citizens’ JuryHelp plan a response to climate change

In April 2019, Kendal Town Council declared a climate emergency. We now want to take the next step and find out what the public thinks.

A Citizens’ Jury will help do this by planning a response to climate emergency. Citizens Juries have been run all over the world to help figure out what to do about really big difficult problems.

In order to launch a Kendal Climate Change Citizens’ Jury we need to raise £6,000, so please help by clicking the button below and donating.
