Community Resilience
Welcome to the home of community resilience for Kendal. On this page there is lots of useful information and links to find out more about our plans here in Kendal and how you can get involved. You can also find useful sources of information to help you be more prepared for an emergency incident.
This is also the home of the Kendal Community Resilience Group (KCRG). This is a group of people from across the the community who come together to support the emergency services during an incident.

Emergency Plan
The Kendal Community Emergency Plan is looked after by the Kendal Community Resilience Group (KCRG).
This plan was updated in September 2025 and will be updated annually.
We encourage members of the public to read and understand this plan. It explains what happens during an incident and highlights where you get help and offer help to others.

Household Emergency Planning
Families and households can better cope with emergencies by preparing in advance and working together as a team. There are three basic steps to being prepared for emergencies:
Stay Informed – sign up to EA flood alerts and Met Office weather warnings
Have a Grab Bag – have all of your important items in an easy place to grab if you have to evacuate
Make a Household Emergency Plan –
