Kendal Town Council

Kendal in Bloom 2020

Each year the Kendal in Bloom Committee encourages schools, communities, businesses and groups to take part in making Kendal a nicer place to live and work.

We have a seperate category for the schools to enter  and we will publish details shortly.

Kendal Town Council will launch the Kendal in Bloom initiative on 31st March 2020.  We would like to encourage  community groups, home owners, organisations, like-minded people and businesses to get involved to improve the local area. It doesn’t matter if the project is big or small.

Some things to consider:

  • Does your project have a positive impact on the local area?
  • Have you or your group benefited from taking part in the project
  • Is this an area that can be developed over time?
  • Have you or your group learnt new skills?

The closing date for entries will be 31st May 2020.

Anyone taking part in Kendal in Bloom is invited to attend an evening of celebration in September. This evening provides an opportunity for the Town Council to show its appreciation to everyone who has taken part during the year.

There an evening of celebration for all entries on 12th November 2020.

If you would like to register to take part, please email your contact details and the category you want to enter to Janine Holt at allotments@kendaltowncouncil.gov.uk

Kendal Climate Change Citizens’ JuryHelp plan a response to climate change

In April 2019, Kendal Town Council declared a climate emergency. We now want to take the next step and find out what the public thinks.

A Citizens’ Jury will help do this by planning a response to climate emergency. Citizens Juries have been run all over the world to help figure out what to do about really big difficult problems.

In order to launch a Kendal Climate Change Citizens’ Jury we need to raise £6,000, so please help by clicking the button below and donating.
