Town Council launches Recovery Grants for Kendal’s hard hit Third Sector

Kendal Town Council has launched a Community Recovery Grant for the Lakeland town’s third sector organisations hardest hit by the pandemic. The £10,000 fund passes on money granted to the Council by the government through its support of bodies paying business rates in the town. Chair of the Town Council’s Audit, Grants and Charities Committee, Cllr Matt Severn said: ‘the Council was fortunate to receive funding through the district council for the properties it occupies in town. It seemed right to passport this through to the organisations in the town that need it most. The pandemic has been very challenging for many people, and we need to do what we can to help everyone get to the other side’.

Third sector organisations serving people in Kendal can apply for the funding by downloading the application form from the Town Council’s grants page via this link. The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 12 February 2021.
