The Visit Kendal website and visitor guides were developed together with Kendal Futures, with initial funding support from Kendal BID and South Lakeland District Council. The purpose of Visit Kendal is to showcase Kendal to visitors and foster pride in the town.
Kendal Town Council, together with Kendal Futures, fund and manage the Visit Kendal website with support from a content manager. KTC manage the leaflet reprints and distribution contracts. Leaflets are available from the Town Hall and are distributed via Aha! Distribution. To feature on the Visit Kendal website please contact anna@visitkendal.co.uk and use #kendal to feature on the social media wall.
Kendal’s Flood Relief Scheme is being led by the Environment Agency. Kendal Town Council is providing significant funding to install glass panels to enhance the walls and maintain the visibility of the river. We are also working with the Environment Agency to ensure additional benefits, such as the new riverside nature sites at Beezon Fields and Mintsfeet, are developed to complement existing town wide investments. For more information visit the Flood Hub.
Kendal Futures launched a Kendal Vision in 2020 to inspire a process of change to deliver a vibrant and exciting future for the town. Kendal Town Council are a core funder of Kendal Futures and work closely with them to develop a range of initiatives designed to improve the town. Together with Kendal Futures, Kendal Town Council developed a Kendal brand to create a refreshed identity and professionally promote Kendal. The brand has been used on signage, the Visit Kendal website, visitor guides and has been adopted by many local businesses. The brand toolkit is available to download here.
